Betta Livida (Pair)
Endemic to northern Selangor state, Peninsular Malaysia with type locality ‘Blackwater stream, north Selangor peat swamp, 800 meters from 45 kilometer mark on road from Tanjong Malim to Sungai Besar, Peninsula Malaysia’.
Populations from different localities are often labelled as such by collectors in order to maintain accuracy and preserve pure bloodlines, e.g., ‘Sepang’, ‘Tg Malim’, etc.

It’s now thought to restricted to a few remaining pockets of primary forest and is listed as ‘endangered‘ by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
